During difficult financial times, businesses need to stabilize profits as much as they can.  There are different ways to do this, and at the top of the list is increasing employee productivity.  Many small, medium, and large organizations are creating productivity jobs that will help these businesses in their sustainability and survival goals.

Productivity jobs are commonly found in almost every position in a company, from the top executives to the lowest clerk. This position can be held by an engineer, or a driver, or a documentation clerk   A productivity engineer, for example, should be able to help the company reduce operational costs.  He can create ideas and devise ways and even make changes in the procedures and then submit his suggestions to the higher management. He can redesign some company facilities to make a positive result in the operations. A driver, a documentation clerk, an admin clerk, and others in the rank, can hold productivity job positions as long as they are analytical, assertive individuals and can very well communicate their ideas either in writing or verbally to the employers.

It is not just the created productivity job positions that have the responsibility in increasing the employee productivity, but this should be the employers’ major concern. The following are some ways the employers can do to improve the employee productivity when they are getting low.

1.  Make every employee realize that he alone is responsible for his actions in the workplace, and it is not acceptable that he blame others for any mistake or error in his job.  This step will help the employee to be careful and meticulous in his work and decisions.

2.  When employers set their goals for the company, they stop right there and then, because they believe that they have done the job.  This should not be the case.  Every goal should be followed up to monitor the progress and to find if additional measures need to be implemented to realize these goals.

3.  Employers know that they should provide employees with the right management, assistance and direction.  The management should also give them trust, the ability to do their job in the manner that they deem right, and suggest measures that can deliver positive results.

4.  Employees should always be given words of encouragement by their employers.  This will help them move forward and strive to do better.  When these employees show exceptional performance, their work should either be recognized or rewarded.  This makes the employees always happy to do their job.

5.  Employers must demand realistic goals.  By realistic, it means the targets are achievable. Employees should not be made to outstretch themselves to attain a goal which is too far fetched.

6.  Lastly,  the employees’ workplace should be provided with the best machinery, tools, devices and equipment that will allow workers to produce positive results at the shortest amount of time possible. Making sure that the machinery and equipment are in topmost operating conditions, no breakdowns, and no connectivity issues can save you valuable manhour.  Devices and equipment takes you away from voluminous paper work; they are more convenient and produce faster results.
